Witty, Cute...Dangerous
Several years ago Rob Bell’s video series was becoming popular. It was being pushed in the local Christian bookstores and in church literature. I don’t remember why but I checked out the series I guess mostly just to satisfy my curiosity. Those were the days before my website so I don’t have recorded what bothered me about Bell’s series of DVDs such as Nooma or his book Velvet Elvis. That is a nice thing about having this website. I can eventually go back and remember things I have forgotten.
A staggering number of people have been taught that a select few Christians will spend forever in a peaceful, joyous place called heaven while the rest of humanity spends forever in torment and punishment in hell with no chance for anything better. It’s been clearly communicated to many that this belief is a central truth of the Christian faith and to reject it is, in essence, to reject Jesus. This is misguided, toxic, and ultimately subverts the contagious spread of Jesus’ message of love, peace, forgiveness and joy that our world desperately needs to hear. (viii)
Rob Bell needs to be ostracized and banned from the church until he repents. He is leaven and leaven always pollutes that which it comes in contact with.

He certainly is leading many people astray and giving them false hope. Especially disappointing as he is a “pastor” and his job is to tell people biblical truth.
Imagine a shepherd KNOWINGLY leading his flock toward a pack of wolves? That is EXACTLY what he is doing.
You are missing the point, look at the bigger picture.
Pointing fingers and sitting on the fence helps nobody, why not do something that will change the world for the better?
What might I ask is the big picture in your eyes? According to Scripture, the big picture is the end result of this tripe…the leavening of the whole loaf. The big picture to me, when I see a rotten apple in the bag is getting rid of the apple before it spoils the whole lot.
1. As I have said many times before, every post of mine that “points the finger”, puts me under the microscope first.
2. I do not sit on the fence, and you would have realized that in two seconds just by doing some browsing of this blog.
3. The ONLY way to change the world is through the proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Mr. Bell is not proclaiming the Gospel, he is changing the Gospel to fit his twisted ideas and desires. He is offering his followers what they want to hear and it will be to their destruction.
